Gathering Up: The Gospel of Community is a weekend fundraiser for Bryan Stevenson’s organization, The Equal Justice Initiative. The weekend includes:

• The Evolution of the Negro Spiritual: a performance and discussion featuring baritone, Marques Ruff, and accompanist Nathan Salazar.

• Book talk and Gospel Nia: Bettye Kearse will read from her acclaimed memoir, The Other Madisons, and that will be followed by a Nia class of community movement to Gospel with Nia instructors Vanessa Lowe, Julie Landry, and Sarah Nickerson.
