Minna Aalto

Finland

Minna (she/her) first met Nia in November 2004. The inviting music, the permission to be silly, and the kicks and punches borrowed from the martial arts created a combination impossible to resist. Fast forward to June 2005, and Minna was already completing her Nia White Belt training, in order to be able to share the joy.

As a teacher and somatic educator, Minna's main objective is to create a space where you can feel safe to relax - and cheer up, goof around and challenge yourself according to your resources and abilities. Nia is the kind of activism that suits Minna; dancing is one of her ways to explore energy work. You are invited to the party!

Minna is currently a licensed Nia 1st Degree Black Belt Teacher. She can still feel the echoes of her earlier Tai Chi practice. In addition to Nia, Minna enjoys poetry, puppies and Mayan astrology. She also paints, draws and writes, and has published several albums as Minna Twice. Some of her songs are featured on a couple of Nia routines. Minna lives in Turku on the southwest coast of Finland, together with her Hausmann Michael and their dog, Roxy.
